LARGE PROJECTS

In the past seven years, we have gained a great deal of experience in translating large texts numbering 3,000 pages and over. Thanks to our long-term collaboration with foreign companies, we have developed new technology to manage the translation process for large projects. This technology is used to facilitate the process from beginning to end, including translation, editing, proofreading and formatting texts.

When it comes to the latest in industry developments, our company is on the cutting edge — we assist our clients by streamlining the translation of technical texts and specialized terminology. We use one of the latest state-of-the-art products on today’s market: translation memory. Translation memory programs – or Computer Assisted Translation Tools (CAT Tools) – such as Trados, help to ensure the consistency of specialized terms throughout the text, even when dozens of translators are working on the same project.

ORGANIZING THE WORK PROCESS

Infocom takes the following steps with each project:

  • We study the client's order;
  • We compile a preliminary glossary for our translators;
  • Editors play a role in each stage of the translation process. Editors consult with translators on terminology issues and ensure consistency of the terminology used by the client. Editors also oversee constant quality control throughout the entire process. Each project is supervised by a senior literary editor and a senior technical editor. Technical editors revise terminology to guarantee consistency and accuracy with current usage and/or client preferences. Literary editors streamline the style of the text and check grammar and spelling.
  • During the work process, Infocom compiles a glossary that aids both the translators working on the project and the client. The glossary serves as a tool to keep everyone involved on the same page.
  • The text is then checked by a proofreader and formatted. (Clients may request that documents be put into PageMaker or QuarkXPress.)
  • Infocom provides our clients with the opportunity to receive selections of the ordered translation regularly (3-4 times per day).

TURNOVERTIME – Infocom provides top quality translations while meeting tight deadlines. Our work process is streamlined to ensure maximum efficiency, organization and fail-safe quality control. We can deliver 1,000-page translations in as few as five days.

If you would like to order a free presentation disk with examples of our translations, or if you would like our team to make a presentation at your office, just call: +7 (095) 788-53-93. Our manager will meet with you at your convenience to answer any questions you may have.
